Transform your garden into a buzzing sanctuary with our Bee Friendly Medley. This thoughtfully curated blend combines three powerful pollinator-attracting plants: White Clover, Phacelia, and Buckwheat. Each seed packet contains the perfect mix to create a thriving habitat that supports essential pollinators while enhancing the beauty of your outdoor space.
What's Inside:
White Clover - These hardy perennial plants produce delicate white blooms that provide nectar throughout the growing season. Beyond attracting bees, white clover improves soil health by fixing nitrogen, making it an excellent companion for nearby plants.
Phacelia - Often called "purple tansy," this fast-growing annual produces stunning lavender-blue flowers that bees simply cannot resist. Its fern-like foliage adds texture to your garden while its blooms become bustling pollinator hubs.
Buckwheat - This quick-establishing annual produces clusters of small white flowers rich in nectar. Buckwheat serves multiple purposes in your garden: attracting beneficial insects, suppressing weeds, and improving soil structure when turned under.
Benefits:
- Supports native and honey bee populations
- Attracts a diverse range of beneficial insects
- Creates a beautiful flowering meadow effect
- Improves soil health and structure
- Easy to grow with minimal maintenance
Sowing Instructions
When to Plant:
Plant after the last frost date. In most regions, this means spring through early summer (April-June). For southern regions, a fall sowing (September-October) can also be successful.
Where to Plant:
Choose a sunny location that receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. This blend adapts to various soil types but performs best in well-draining soil.
How to Plant:
-
Prepare the Area: Clear the planting area of existing vegetation and debris. Loosen the top 1-2 inches of soil with a rake.
-
Sow Seeds: Mix seeds with sand for more even distribution (approximately 4 parts sand to 1 part seed). Broadcast seeds evenly over the prepared area.
-
Press Into Soil: Lightly press seeds into the soil surface using a lawn roller or by walking over the area. Seeds should make good contact with the soil but not be buried deeply.
-
Watering: Keep the soil moist during the germination process. Once established, water as needed.
Help save our pollinators while creating a beautiful, low-maintenance garden feature with our Bee Friendly Medley. Your garden—and the bees—will thank you!
